Review of the Merrimack Ceiling Fan I & II
The Merrimack II ceiling fan earned an impressive 4.7 stars out of 5 stars from over 1580 ratings making it an exceptionally popular choice. Style, Easy to Assemble, Easy to Install and Noise Level all scored 4.5 or higher. Value for money scored a 4.0 with Remote control scoring the lowest on 2.6. This was probably because of misunderstandings that it came with a remote control, however the Merrimack II uses pull chains rather than a remote to control fan speed and light output.
The main complaints were that some of the parts arrived damaged, mainly the glass globe, and required replacements. A few had problems with assembling the unit, but this was only a couple of customers out of thousands. Air movement was also a problem, feeling much lower than the advertised 3800 CFM.
You won’t be disappointed with the looks of the ceiling fan, however quality is not as good as other brands of ceiling fans. There can also be a balance issue with some installs creating an annoying wobble on higher speeds. A balance kit can be used to fix this issue.
Overall, this ceiling fan received 95% of customers with 4 or 5 star ratings and 85% with a 5 star rating.
The Merrimack ceiling fan earned 4.5 stars out of 5 stars from 318 ratings. The lowest score of 1 star was made by 5% of buying customers. The biggest complaint being that it only operates using a remote. If you lose the remote or damage the remote you can’t operate the fan. There were also a few complaints on the fan unit just not working after installation.
However, 78% were satisfied enough to give this fan a 5 star rating with no installation problems. A large number of customers were happy with the appearance and style of this ceiling fan.
