The Harbor Breeze Mazon Ceiling Fan is available in four different finishes including Brushed Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, White and Matte Black with Brushed Nickel being the most popular choice. The ceiling fan diameter of 44 inches with a flush mount makes it more suitable for smaller rooms or spaces.
Here is a table of the key features and specifications of the Harbor Breeze Mazon 44 inch ceiling fan.
The Mazon ceiling fan is seasonal, meaning that it can be used both in Summer to cool and in Winter to move warm air around the room. This is made possible with a reverse switch that changes the rotation direction of the blades. This is a great feature that can save you money in the winter by making your heater more energy efficient.

Reviews of the Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Model
After checking and reading through a lot of reviews we found that the most common problems with the Mazon Harbor Breeze ceiling fan is the light kit not working correctly, the remote not syncing properly and an audible humming noise coming from the motor when it is turned on and operating.
To be fair not everyone experienced these issues, but they were the most common whenever there was a problem with the fan.
The light kit is supposed to be an integrated LED but one complaint was that it has a bulb that will burn out. It is supposed to last for decades but it can at times burn out. You shouldn’t have to replace the whole ceiling fan if this happens to you. At worst you can get a replacement light kit that’s inexpensive. Don’t expect a lot of light from the light kit though. You may need to have other sources of illumination in the room.
Another common problem was the humming noise that can be heard as the fan spins. If you can live with a small amount of noise then this shouldn’t be a problem. Its usually caused by motor vibrations that are amplified by the fan parts. Make sure the fittings including any mounts, blades and housings are firmly secured. Blades may need to be rebalanced. Check the troubleshooting below to see how to do this. Usually, the humming noise is less audible at lower speeds.
Lastly, another problem was the remote not correctly syncing with the ceiling fan. This can just be due to the inexperience of the operator not understanding how to use the ‘learn’ button to sync the remote and fan. Dip switches are not used in the newer fans so you won’t be able to sync in the old way with dip switches. For a complete guide on how to sync the remote with your Mazon ceiling fan please read the article: Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Remote Troubleshooting Guide
So, what do we like about the Harbor Breeze Mazon ceiling fan? For one thing, it is easy to install and if you correctly assembled it then it will function pretty well and quiet, moving a good amount of air around a smaller room.
It’s interesting to note that the Model 00728 is more reliable than the Model MZ44ORB3LR so check your Model number when purchasing. The ceiling fans look the same but the remotes are different and sync differently.
So our choice is the Harbor Breeze Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan Model 00729 (Affiliate Link to Amazon) and the Harbor Breeze Oil Rubbed Ceiling Fan Model 00729 (Affiliate link to Amazon)
Harbour Breeze Mazon Ceiling Fan Troubleshooting
Please watch the video below for help on Installing your Mazon Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan.
Why Do I Hear Excessive Humming From My Ceiling Fan?
If you are hearing excessive humming from your ceiling fan then this could be due to the blades not being firmly secured or needing a rebalance. Rebalancing can easily be done with a ceiling fan blade balance kit.
First, make sure that all of the fan blades are secured tightly.
You can pick up a balancing kit for $3 to $10 from Lowes that contains a few small weights weighing only ½ gram apiece along with a way to attach them to the ceiling fan blades.
The balance kit will come with instructions for locating the wobbly ceiling fan blade and the weights are used to fix the issue. Once the wobbly fan blade is corrected the humming noise should diminish.
